Light Up Labs Exhibit

"Early creations were mostly hanging lamps; Leah would draw and burn designs onto pieces of wood, and Paul would attach a bottle to these wooden base using old plumbing/gas fittings we had on hand and wire it up.  When we started making lamps together, we both fell in love with the durability and quality of a lot of the older items we worked with, especially antique lamp parts. Even with some of our simpler items like the clouds and jellyfish, we have found ways to implement repurposed materials...many of our lanterns were purchased second hand after being used in a large event, the majority of the fabric and ribbon on the jellyfish is purchased at Upcycle Parts Shop in Cleveland. When we can't use recycled or repurposed materials, we try to get as much locally sourced as we can. We work with local antique shops to get salvaged and damaged lighting pieces…
